CLIMBING

    In this quide are picked up eighty seven climbing routes divided in four climbing areas recently equipped by technicians of the Andalusian Federation of mountaineering:  Nacimiento, Higuerón, Huerta and Carretera.  As well as these one there are two more areas that have been in part equipped again by the Andalusian Federation and the first equipment correspond to Nescania group.  These two areas are Los Lavaderos and Pico de la Bandera, The nacimiento and Huerta areas, due to their extension and the dispersion of its routes, have been divided in various sectors to make easy the location of the equipped routes and of the future aperture of new routes.  Most of the routes are converted whit fixed anchorage and all of them are adequately equipped.

    There are some half-equipped routes where it is necessary to use fissurers and friends as intermediate safe spots.  These kinds of routes are located exclusively in Nacimiento area.

    Each route is marked on its foot with its name and the grade of the itinerary.  The routes needing auto-protection have, in the beginning, a red spot next to the name.  In the climbing guide the recommended materials are specified.

The access to the climbing areas is comfortable and quickly: about fifteen minutes at the most.  On foot of the route takes place some little course tracks (PR).  There are two informative panels, one of them in the village entrance coming from Málaga and the other one a little further up of the petrol station.
