HANG-GLIDING

     The mountain range of Valle de Abdalajís, included in the Penibetic System and located between the reservoirs of Guadalhorce and Torcal of Antequera, is neighbour of the mountain range of Huma and the mountain pass of Gaitanes.  This fact has been a very important referent to all of those participants who play free flight, in whatever modality, wing delta sport or para-gliding.
     The location, orientation, orography, the continental microclimate and the excellence of its thermal currents have turned Valle de Abdalajís into an ideal place to practice hang-gliding
There are two main slopes to flight, the East zone, the West zone and the Capilla zone, both conditions of flight are excellent because of its access to them, as much as its own take-off areas.  The thermal currents, in normal conditions, allow us to enjoy flights and a relatively important permanence in the air.  Moreover, it is possible to enjoy the impressive panoramic views from the East area, viewing the whole Vega of Guadalhorce and the Mountain Pass of Gaitanes, as much as views of the whole area of the reservoirs of Guadalhorce from the West area.   
As far as concerns to the runways, the are situated in the surroundings areas of the town centre, been very easy to reach it thanks to the width of the area.  Thanks to the excellence of its free flight conditions; Valle de Abdalajís has become to bee very famous among the participants of free flight, who call it FLIGHT CAPITAL. zona de aterrizaje

    To fly it is not only an activity for birds.  That one who wish to practice these sports of venture and turn into reality the Icaro´s dream can do it in the Mountain Range of Valle de Abdalajís.  The climatic conditions are excellent, the thermal currents allow us to stay in the air a long time.  In the environment, the Mountain Range of Valle de Abdalajís, Huma Mountain Range, the Mountain Pass of Gaitanes, the Damming of Guadalhorce, have a special beauty.

    The practising of these risk sports or the amateurs who want to start them have some flight areas with ideals climatic, thermal, thermal ladders, orographic and landscape painter characteristics that guaranty us flights of long duration along the whole year.

    The access to the take-off areas and the runways are publics and has a free character.

    Two are two private entities which in a local level develop their activities, offet information and advice in all that is linked with hang-gliding, in the modality of wing delta sport and para-gliding.
